Trail notes

I like the slow, specific parts of a trip: choosing a trail, missing a turn, finding a view worth stopping for, and working out which details will actually help the next person. This is where hikes, weekend escapes, and photo-led trip reports live.

Coming soon

The first trail note is on its way.

Hikes, trip itineraries, and photo stories will appear here. I’m aiming for the useful details: route choices, timing, what surprised me, and what I’d do differently.

What makes a good trip note?

For a hike: route, distance, elevation, season, trail conditions, water/food, and the one thing you wish you had known before leaving.

For a trip: a personal story first, then the practical itinerary, costs in a useful range, favorite food or view, and an honest “would I do it again?”
